Obituary of Thomas G. Thein

Thomas G. Thein of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 58 years old. Thomas was born on October 29, 1965 in Dover, NJ to Carole (Higgins) and the late Thomas Thein.

Thomas was a long-time resident of Mt. Arlington, NJ and he was a custodian employed by Randolph and Tewksbury School Systems and Bristal Glen Care Center. Thomas attended Hopatcong High School for one year and then graduated Sussex County Vocational School. He was an avid football fan and was very fond of the Las Vegas Raiders. Thomas amassed an enormous collection of KISS memorabilia and he loved Halloween. Thomas enjoyed eating at the Grotto and the Hopatcong Diner but most importantly, Thomas loved spending time with his cherished family and dear friends.

Thomas is survived by his devoted mother, Carole Thein, his beloved fiancé`, Donna Pirro, his brother-in-law, Elston Pirro and his aunt, Marcia Peterson. Additional survivors include his cousins, Esther Dupuis and Edwin Rafferty, his nephews, DJ Peterson and Robert Peterson, his nieces, Veronica Thein, Brooke Peterson and Addison Stymacks, his best friend John Greenfield and his feline companion, Negrita . He was pre-deceased by his father, Thomas Thein in 2006.

Thomas's Life Celebration will include a Visitation on Friday, March 15th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with an 12:30 pm Prayer Service offered at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. Thomas will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp. NJ immediately following the prayer service. All funeral arrangements are under the direction of and entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home.
