Joan M. Laverty of Kenvil, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old. Joan was born on January 17, 1947 in Morristown, NJ to the late Andrew and the late Mary (Pilipie) Wilk. Joan was a registrar at County College of Morris for many years before retiring. She was a strong-willed woman with a big heart and a zest for life. Joan would purchase very thoughtful gifts for her close friends and family. In addition, she constantly watched the Hallmark and the Food Network Channels. Joan was also famous for her "Happy Hour" gatherings on her deck listening to her favorite music. Joan was a social butterfly and her greatest joy was spending time with her cherished family and many dear friends celebrating special memories and going to the lake sitting on the dock. Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Monik, her devoted children, Kimberly Chuck and husband, Christopher and her son, Kevin Laverty and his significant other, Ashley Smith and her cherished grandchildren, Justin and Julia Chuck.
