Obituary of Lester N. Guerra

Lester N. Guerra of Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Manor Care Center in Stroudsburg, Pa. surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years old. Lester was born on February 6, 1934 in Netcong, NJ to the late Salvatore and the late Maria Guerra.

Mr. Guerra was a produce manager at ACME for many years before retiring. Lester was a NY Mets fan and enjoyed golfing, horse racing, the casinos and playing family card games, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his cherished family. He was a devout catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Michael's RC Church in Netcong.

Lester is survived by his devoted daughter, Jane D'Auria and her husband, Vincent, his devoted son, Lester Guerra and his wife, Laura and his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Guerra. Additional survivors include his cherished grandchildren; Jennifer Shope, Heather D'Auria, Vincent D'Auria Jr., Justin Guerra, Mitchell Guerra and Richard Guerra, his great-grandchildren; Tiffany Murphy, Kailee D'Auria, Faith D'Auria, Anthony Quigley and Peyton Quigley, his great great- granddaughter, Raelyn Murphy and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Theresa in 2004, his son, Michael in 2021, his sisters; Mary, Carmella, Virginia, Vincetta and Theresa and his brothers; John, Samuel and Anthony.

Lester's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday, December 14th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Friday, December 15th at 9:00am at St. Michael RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Lester will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
