Obituary of Edward Marquart Jr.

Edward Marquart, Jr. of Hackettstown, NJ and formerly of Hopatcong passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old. Edward was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward and the late Alice Manzo Marquart.

Edward was a long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ before moving to Hackettstown a short time ago. Mr. Marquart was a lithographer and a union laborer for many years before retiring. In addition, he owned and operated his own beverage route for many years. Edward enjoyed traveling, reading and walking but most importantly he cherished his time with his family and friends.

Edward is survived by his devoted sons, Christopher (Joanne) and Thomas (Monica), his cherished grandchildren, Craig, Samantha, Emily, Angelo and Christopher and his companion's children, Kristen Core and Jason Core. Additional survivors include his brother, Richard Marquart and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Edward was pre-deceased by his sons, Edward III in 2019, Vincent in 2021, his daughter, Linda in 2013, his former wife, Antoinette in 2009, his brother, John and his longtime companion, Eileen Core in 2021,

Edward's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Thursday, September 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Graveside Service on Friday, September 15th at 11:00 am at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road, Wesbury, NY #516-334-7990. Family and friends to meet directly at the cemetery on Friday morning.
