Stephen R. Van Ness of Lake Hopatcong passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at home. He was 69 years old. Born in Irvington, NJ Stephen resided in Cranford before moving to Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson Twp. 4 months ago. He was the owner of Colonial Auto Body in Colonia before retiring. Devoted husband of Elsie J. (Slattery). Loving father of Stephen R. Van Ness, Jr. and his wife Jill and Cindy A. McCarthy and her husband Dan. Cherished grandfather of Trisha, Amanda, Dale and Stephen. All services are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
