Obituary of Mary A. Togno

Mary A. Togno of the Port Morris section of Roxbury Twp. passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by her loving family. She was 91. Mary was born on February 2, 1927 in Pittston, Pa. to the late Samuel and Alfia (Maccarone) Alba.

Mrs. Togno graduated from East Stroudsburg High School Valedictorian of Class of 1944. Mary was a 1983 graduate of Centenary University and a longtime resident of Port Morris, NJ. She was a supervisory accountant at Picatinny Arsenal for many years before retiring. Mary was a member the Ladies Auxiliary of Roxbury Fire Company #2, the "Ever Young" Seniors and several golf clubs. Mary was also a member of the Civilian Air Patrol during WWII where she learned navigation and wartime piloting. Mary traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe, she also enjoyed reading but most importantly, Mary cherished her time with her family and many dear friends.

Mary is survived by her devoted daughter, Marianne Paradiso, her son-in-law, Nick Amandos, her cherished grandchildren, Michael & his fiancé, Jaclyn, and Matthew & his wife, Alison and her sister, Theresa Alba. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Anthony in 2009, her son, Anthony, Jr. in 1978 and her siblings, Rose, Josephine, Angelina, Joseph and Eva.

Mary's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday, November 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Thursday, November 15th at 10:00 am at St. Michael' RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Mary will be laid to rest at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
