Obituary of Ronald Frank Gatti

Ronald Frank Gatti, 78, of East Stroudsburg, PA, formerly of Byram Township and Fair Lawn, NJ passed away suddenly Saturday October 7, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Josephine Gatti, Ron resided in Staten Island, NY and earned his Masters degree in Public Administration. He served as the Radburn Association Communtity Manager for 20 years, where he had a profound and positive impact on the lives of countless township families through youth mentoring and recreational activities. He continued his career as Township Manager in Byram, NJ before moving to East Stroudsburg, PA and continuing a lifetime of public service. 

Ron was an avid outdoorsman from an early age. While he personally enjoyed fishing, camping and skiing, his true passion was sharing his love for those activities with others.  Later in life, he remained young at heart after discovering a fondness for water aerobics.  Most importantly, Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was spending time with his entire family for holidays, sporting events, and family adventures. 

Survivors include the love of his life, Ida (Henry), his wife of 53 years; their three children, Cynthia Yuskaitis and husband Greg of Byram, Katherine Mottola and husband Frank of Fair Lawn, and Ronald Jr. and wife Irene of Byram; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Victoria, Rebecca and Marigrace Yuskaitis and Courtney, Frankie and Alexa Mottola; his brother, Rudy and many nieces and nephews.  Ron was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Richard.

Ron’s Life Celebration will include viewing on Thursday, October 12 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  A Catholic blessing and service will be offered at 7:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14 at The Presbyterian Church at 1 East Oak Street in Basking Ridge, NJ at 2 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America at www.bgca.org.
