Obituary of Mary Papa

Mary I. Papa, 94, of the Landing section of Roxbury Township passed away on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at Merry Heart Care Center in Succasunna surrounded by her loving family. Born in Mary D, PA on September 27, 1921 to the late Andrew and Mary Ulichney, Mary resided in Irvington and worked for Ketcham and McDougall in Roseland before retirement. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family and sewing. Mary was a member of the Queen of the Lakes Columbiettes Council #5114 of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mt. Arlington. Loving wife of the late Frank Joseph who passed in 1993. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Andrew, John, Michael and George Ulichney and sisters, Anna Kessler, Veronica Gould and Helen Kindler and a daughter in law, Joann Papa. Survivors include her children, Frank J. Papa, Bernard Papa and Mary Middleton, daughter in law, Rita Papa and son in law, Larry Middleton, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mary's Life Celebration will include visitation on Tuesday June 7 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday June 8 beginning at 10:00AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 8 Windemere Avenue, Mt. Arlington, NJ. Mary will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover immediately following Mass.
