Obituary of Gloria M. Gelato

Gloria M. (Forziati) Gelato of Landing passed away Friday September 22, 2017 at home.

She was 94.

Born in New York, NY, she lived in most of her life in Landing with a brief 8 year retirement in Guilford NY.

Gloria was a nurse with Dover General Hospital in Dover prior to her retirement.

A member of the Port Morris United Methodist Church, she was a member of their Queen Esthers.

Gloria enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing the organ, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was actively involved with her senior group, her church and other community events.

Beloved wife of the late Louis L. Gelato. Devoted mother of Anthony Gelato, Katherine Nieves and her husband Pablo,Tina Berchak and her husband David and the late Louis Gelato III. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren. Dear sister of Dick and Raymond Forziati, Pearly Marini, Spana McCarthy, Audrey Weber, Renee Thompson and the late Ann DeSanto, Josie Grasso, Dotty Carbone, Gary Forziati and Arthur Forziati.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gloria's Life Celebration on Wednesday September 27, 2017 from 4:00PM to 800PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:15PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday September 30 at the Port Morris United Methodist Church, 296 Center Street, Landing (parking in rear of building) with interment to follow in the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Port Morris United Methodist Church, 296 Center Street, Landing, NJ 07850.
